Traditional Work
in a Non-Traditional Way
Every job at COEC has a traditional job description, but every job at COEC has the capacity to be “non-traditional.”
At COEC, we are all working together to develop the potential of individuals through extraordinary educational experiences in the natural world.
The educational experiences that we facilitate don’t just benefit our campers, students and guests: in our supportive, engaged and innovative workplace, our employees find themselves learning and growing personally and professionally throughout almost every aspect of their workday.
We have a multi-generational workforce that prioritizes maintaining an intimate understanding of our almost 100 year history while simultaneously seeking to be progressive, innovative, and culturally relevant. This means we listen, we solicit feedback, we look at our data, we invest in professional development for our employees, we modify, and we grow.
At our Sunday, non-denominational “Vespers” at each camp, we begin each week with the same quote:
Nothing is simple and alone.
The breathing mountains, the living stones
Each blade of grass.
The clouds, the rain.
Each star, the beasts, the birds and the invisible spirits of the air.
We are all one.
Indivisible.
Nothing that any of us does but affects us all.
We are looking for people who recognize “nothing is simple and alone” - and only together can we achieve our mission.
