Prep Cook Job Description

Our prep cooks further the mission of Colorado Outdoor Education Center by providing quality meals to clients and guests who have reserved the conference center space to learn on site. Prep Cooks report to the head chef. Full time and part time positions available. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Minimum qualifications, education, and experience.

  • Flexible Schedule, including weekends

Physical & other Requirements:

  • Ability to spend all day on your feet
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to navigate over uneven terrain
  • All COEC Employees must pass a background check

Job Benefits

-Competitive salary starting at $15.00 - $16.50/Hr.
-Lodging (if housed on site, salary will be reduced), meals, and laundry service
-1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.

-Meals on site during shift (when kitchens are open and in season)

Prep Cook Job Responsibilities

Essential:

  • Prep and cook meals for clients, including identifying and accomodating dietary restrictions
  • Wash and sanitize all used dishes
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Assist in maintaining a clean kitchen, sparkling dishware, and a tidy dining area

Other Duties:

  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
  • Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Deal with reasonable complaints / requests with professionalism and patience
  • Adhere to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned
