High Trails Outdoor Education Center
Working as part of the High Trails Outdoor Education Center staff is a life changing experience.
As an outdoor education field instructor at HTOEC, you have the opportunity to mentor and develop young stewards of the natural world, identify and refine your teaching and leadership styles, and be a part of a small, close-knit community that supports each other, works together, and plays together.
A season instructing at HTOEC is a perfect stepping stone on your career path. Our staff go on to a multitude of careers, including (but not limited to): classroom teaching, research, curriculum development, adventure guiding, environmental law, engineering, and medicine. Leadership and people skills, a strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and plan, and learning how to find a healthy work and life balance - you’ll build all of these skills and then some while at HTOEC, and they’ll help you throughout the rest of your professional career.
