Office Assistant Job Description

Our office staff further the mission of the camp through efficient and effective communication and organizational processes. This is a seasonal summer position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

What Are We Looking For?

Minimum qualifications, education, and experience.

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgment and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and track numerous ongoing projects
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • All COEC Employees must pass a background check.

Physical & other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30lbs repetitively
  • Ability to twist and turn
  • Walk on uneven terrain
  • Work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions, including rain and heat

Job Benefits

-Salary starting at $14.81-$15.50

Office Assistant Job Responsibilities

Essential:

  • Answer & direct email correspondence and incoming phone calls
  • Build relationships with parents, camp families, alumni, and staff through communications
  • Learn and understand the basics of the CampMinder Database system
  • Assist with collection, sorting, and distribution of mail
  • Prepare and post mail/packages via USPS, FedEx, and UPS
  • Assist with the end of summer session’s shipping days
  • Train, supervise, and assist seasonal staff in the shipping process
  • Generate mailing labels for UPS or FedEx shipments
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
  • Help maintain a clean office (kitchen/bathrooms/trash/recycle)

Other Duties:

  • Maintain general knowledge of SWC programming and events around COEC property
  • Troubleshoot and operate office technology equipment
  • Other tasks as defined and assigned from Director Team
