Colorado Fourteeners Initiative partners with various organizations to protect and restore fragile high alpine landscapes, while providing public education and stewardship opportunities. SWC has adopted several 14,000 peaks in partnership with CFI, and each summer campers work with CFI on trail service projects.
Teller County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, urban, wilderness, and mountain search and rescue team based in Teller County, Colorado. The team operates under the jurisdiction of the Teller County Sheriff’s Office. COEC partners with TCSAR to provide space to host scenario based trainings, and several COEC staff are also volunteer members of SAR.
The Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP) seeks to protect the water quality and ecological health of the Upper South Platte Watershed through the cooperative efforts of watershed stakeholders, with emphasis placed on community values and economic sustainability. COEC has partnered with CUSP to tackle wildfire mitigation on over 75 acres of land. Additionally, Sanborn Western Camps partners annually with CUSP to improve trails and decrease erosion around the property through service projects with campers.
The American Camp Association is a community of camp professionals who, for over 100 years, have joined together to share their knowledge and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs. The ACA is the accrediting body for camps across the United States - and Sanborn Western Camps has been a member of the ACA since 1956.
Sanborn Western Camps is a member of The Western Association of Independent Camps (WAIC), an organization of summer camps with owners and directors dedicated to operating excellent youth programs across the Western United States. The WAIC community is a valuable resource and supportive network for SWC, as members of our year-round team work together with partners across the WAIC to share information and advocate for camps.
The mission of University Academy Foundation is to facilitate educational programs and opportunities that support college readiness, college completion, and career success for University Academy students and alumni. We are proud to partner with UA to provide summer camp scholarships, helping students build critical skills like independence, resilience, and effective communication, while fostering confidence and a vision for their future.
A Thousand Summers, John Austin Cheley Foundation works to remove the barriers to a high-impact, long-term summer camp experience for families who cannot otherwise afford it. Sanborn is one of residential summer camps across the country A Thousand Summers partners with to promote the success of underserved youth across the United States.
