In addition to our three major programs, Colorado Outdoor Education Center hosts special events from time-to-time throughout the year. These include:
September 29, 2012 No Child Left Inside Open House
COEC participates in the annual Colorado Springs area “No Child Left Inside Weekend” by providing a day of nature activities and hikes at our High Trails Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
October 12-14, 2012 Stalking Education in the Wild
“Stalking Education in the Wild” is back! During the weekend of October 12-14, 2012, this active, dynamic outdoor workshop will again be hosted by Sanborn Western Camps and Colorado Outdoor Education Center at The Nature Place in Florissant, Colorado.
The workshop is designed for classroom teachers, summer camp leaders, parks and recreation naturalists, university students and for anyone who wishes to share the out-of-doors with others. It also provides many opportunities for those who are interested in learning more about the geology and natural history of Colorado.

November 2012 ACA Rocky Mountain Section Conference
Plan on joining other camp and outdoor education professionals for this outstanding annual conference hosted by Sanborn Western Camps and The Nature Place. The Fall Conference for Camp and Youth Development Professionals features topics relevant to all camp professionals, from program staff to camp owners as well as excellent youth development and programming sessions for classroom and outdoor educators.
